The tooling is selected based on the drawing’s specified bend angles (ranging from acute to obtuse) and internal radii, preventing excessive stress on the zinc coating that could lead to cracking or peeling, which would compromise corrosion resistance.​
     
    Pre-bending preparation is critical, especially for complex customised shapes. This may involve laser cutting or shearing the SGCC sheet to the exact blank size specified in the drawing, ensuring clean edges that facilitate accurate bending. During bending, operators monitor parameters like bend force and speed, adjusting them to account for SGCC’s unique properties—its zinc layer adds slight ductility, requiring balanced pressure to avoid deformation while maintaining sharp, precise bends as dictated by the design.​
